Haul Me Straight to Hell

I've got this weird secret addiction I tell very few people about. I absolutely love watching haul videos and makeup tutorials late at night on youtube.

I first accidentally stubbed upon them about a year ago. I was in that weird in between when you're too drunk to be in public but too drunk to fall asleep, instead I was on youtube like a zombie. I found this video of a girl doing over-the-top eye makeup tutorials. I was fascinated watching her put her makeup on in front of a webcam while explaining in intense detail how to recreate the look at home. Its also awesome because she's not that hot. She's just some chubby British girl. It just makes it all the better to me. She's so popular now that someone sponsored her to make her own makeup line.

I love makeup. I don't do anything dramatic, but I love reading about it and wasting tons of money on it. This has created quite a problem for me since I already have an online shopping problem. These strange people are convincing me that I need this shit.

And then I found haul videos. Young girls talking about everything they've bought each month in intense detail. The packaging, where they wore it, exactly how much it costs, everything. They pretty much recreate the high of shopping yourself...for the camera. Everything you could want to know, is there. The worst part is I just found out that one of my favorites is only 15 fucking years old.

I mean sometimes its good. I discovered this awesome company called birchbox that way. They send you 4-5 deluxe sized samples in the mail each month. And since its a surprise its just about the most exciting thing for anyone who is into makeup.

But the awful part is that whenever I am trying to look up something I go to youtube to see girls review it who are all pretty much convincing me its the best thing ever causing me to buy a ton of it.
For example I've been breaking out really badly with "winter skin" and discovered that I've been doing too much to fix it and need to stop washing my face and moisturize more. I found a new cleanser that was suggested from Lush and I went online to hear about it, and of course ended up ordering it. It took 9 days to get here and I was so excited about it that I just kept watching videos of girls talking about it. Next thing I know I am driving 45 minutes to the closest mall with a lush and ended up buying a whole bunch of shit just because I wanted to see it in person. I even bought these bath bombs just for shits and giggles. I tried one out, it turned me water hot pink and filled it with heart shaped confetti. I got all excited and ordered even more lush shit. Its such a vicious cycle and now I am watching demos of people dropping bath bombs into water.
